This super easy small-batch tomato sauce recipe only takes 15 minutes,  but for a deeper, richer umami flavor, let the sauce rest  for 4 hours.

STEP 1 Add chopped garlic and chilli flakes  to pre-heated olive oil in a pot.

STEP 2 Cook until the garlic is fragrant  and golden, about 4 minutes.

STEP 3 Add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

STEP 4 Optional: Let the sauce rest for  4 hours to thicken and infuse flavor.

STEP 5 Spoon into a clean container and use anywhere you like. Not just for pasta!
