Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon hot water
  • ice
  • 3 ounces strong brewed Earl grey tea, cooled
  • 2 ounces grapefruit juice, fresh squeezed if possible
  • kumquats for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Mix the honey and hot water in a rocks glass until the honey is dissolved. Fill the glass with fresh ice. Pour the Earl grey tea and grapefruit juice over the ice. Stir, garnish with sliced kumquats, and serve.

Recipe Notes

Make the tea as weak or as strong as you like.
If you like a sweeter mocktail, increase the amount of honey and hot water mix.
Use fresh grapefruit juice if you can, however, bottled works well in a pinch.
If you can’t find kumquats, garnish the drink with a wedge of grapefruit or a slice of grapefruit peel.

I love this as a way to offer a drink to people who come over that aren’t drinking, especially since everyone is on sober January right now.
